TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF BOOKING

The letting week normally runs from 4:00pm Saturday to 10:00am the following Saturday, except for short breaks - see below*.  Please contact via email if different changeover is required.  A non-refundable deposit of £100 is required on booking with the balance being due no later than 4 weeks before the holiday commences.

*Short Breaks - 3 & 4 nights as available.  Full payment is required at the time of booking for short breaks and any bookings within 4 weeks of the holiday

Should you cancel after paying the final balance, a refund will only be paid (minus the deposit) if we can re-let the cabin for the length of your booking. We strongly advise you to take out holiday insurance which covers cancellation expenses.

 

On arrival at Dalavich, you will be directed to your cabin by our caretaker. There is off-road parking for up to two cars.

Utilities such as electricity, water, heating, cooking and shower as well as bed linen, duvets and tea-towels are included in the tariff.  

Bath towels, high-chairs, cots and buggies are not provided, however these items can be hired locally if required. A coin-operated launderette is available at the village community centre.  Please state any requirements at the time of booking.

 

Well behaved dogs are permitted to stay for a charge of £15 per dog, per week with no more than two dogs permitted in the Lodge.  Please do not allow your dogs on the furniture.

Smoking or the use of naked flames (for example candles) is strictly prohibited in the Lodge.

 

The charges below are for 4 people for 1 week.  The Lodge does also have a day bed in the living area for one person. Occupancy by more than 4 persons will be charged at £65 per person per stay, regardless of length of stay.

Low Season: 6 Jan to 20 March & 24 Oct to 21 Dec    £315  

Mid Season: 21 March to 19 Jun & 12 Sep to 23 Oct   £380   

High Season: 20 Jun to 11 Sep & 22 Dec to 5 Jan     £475      

  

Christmas Season: 22 Dec to 5 Jan. We offer Christmas and New Year four day breaks starting from £340. Please call for details.

No liability is accepted by burnsidedalavich@btinternet.com for loss or damage to guests' property, including, but not limited to baggage and motor vehicles, however caused; nor for any injury or accident to persons whilst on the premises. The property owners reserve the right to refuse admission, or to terminate the let of any persons who, in the opinion of the owners, is acting in a dangerous or unruly manner which may cause danger or distress to other holidaymakers and residents. In any such case, fees paid will NOT be refunded.

We want your stay in our cabins to be as enjoyable as possible; should you have any special requests in regard to your stay with us, please ask when you book.

 

Please note the following useful information:

1. The road from Taynuilt to Dalavich is a single track road with plentiful passing places.  Traffic is usually very light.  Most guests accept this as part of the "adventure experience" and acknowledge that it contributes to the sense of "getting away from it all".  Please bear in mind that the local people are very courteous drivers and will make allowances for the inexperience of  holiday makers who are exercising appropriate caution.  There is also a bus service which operates regualrly between Dalavich and Oban and further afield in the area: West Coast Motors, The Travel Centre, George Street, Oban, Argyll PA34 5RU (www.westcoastmotors.co.uk) Tel: 01586 552319.   It's a great way to see the scenery! 

2. Burnside Lodge does not have internet access and many mobile connections are poor; however, O2 and Vodafone usually have excellent connection and GPS is usually available on G4 and above.  There is free WiFi at the Community Centre and a pay phone at the Wild Rowan store/cafe/post office.

3. Dalavich Community Centre and The Wild Rowan Cafe operate various times according to the time of year.  Please check their Facebook pages for details  The Community Centre operates a bar and restaurant with a loch view terrace.  Free WiFi is available.  The Wild Rowan stocks foodstuffs, alcohol and various items for your holiday.
