ADD BURNSIDE LODGE, LOCH AWE

I've always loved Scotland. From my first visit "Nessie Hunting" as a child, I've returned every year and explored almost every part of it.  From cosy B&B to 5-star hotels, camping along the North Coast 500 to island hopping off the west coast; I'm hooked!

At Add Burnside Lodge, Dalavich, you can stay close to base and explore the Loch with its islands, go fishing, see the wildlife and waterfalls in the surrounding woodland or visit the Hollow Mountain (Ben Cruachan) with its dam and power station.  Don't forget to visit the island castles, the standing stonesat Kilmartin and Oban distillary.  There is a shop, post office, cafe and bar/retaurant (with children's play area) in the village which is an easy walk from the Lodge.  Dedicated cyclists can take a round trip of the Loch.  A little further afield are Oban (Gateway to the Isles), Glencoe and beautiful drives along the west coast and wetlands. Loch Awe has something for everyone - here's to another 30 years!

"We came on a short winter break.  Even at this time of year it is beautiful and full of colour.  We saw deer and woodpeckers. The Lodge is surrounded by trees, overlooking a broad stream. A cosy and private retreat to relax in during the day or return to at the end of the day's exploring.

In the Lodge you feel as if you are deep in the woods with red squirrels coming to feed on the balcony over the burn.  You can cook in the kitchen or take a short walk to the village cafe and bar - the food is good and reasonably priced.  Great for cycling, sailing, fishing in the loch and walking.  I'll definitely be back.
